Twenty-six cases of abdominal tumors under 15 years of age, admitted to Chonnam University Hospital, during the past 5 years from Jan. 1971 to Dec. 1975 were reviewed briefly.
The following results were obtained.
1. Of these cases, 17 cases(65.3%) were retroperitoneal tumors and 9 cases were intraperi-toneal tumors.
2. Among total cases reviewed, benign tumors which, were mesenteric cysts(3 cases) and omental. cysts(2 cases) were common malignant tumors which were Wilms´ tumors(8 cases) and neuroblastoma(6 cases) were common.
3. The majority of the patients, 13 cases(50%)were between 1 and 5 years, 6 cases was between 6 and 10 years, and 5 cases were under 1 years.
4. Sex ratio showed M : F=15: 11.
5. On pathologic study, 19 cases were malignant, 7 cases were benign tumors.
6. On visit, abdominal mass was the most common complaint(84.2%) and pain(50%) were next.
7. The laboratory data showed , anemia in 14 cases(53. 8%), leukocytosis : in 7 cases, proteinurea in 7 cases, and hematurea in 3 cases.
